The Porsche 912 has the simplicity of the earlier 356, with the short wheel base suspension and braking system of the early 911.
Our car is fitted with the 1600cc, 4 cylinder 90BHP engine which was only 30 BHP short of the early 911’s, 6 cylinder engine. With the advantage of being lighter at the rear end, the 912 proved to be not as tail happy as the early 911’s.
Our Porsche was originally a Californian car, imported to this country in 1999. It is finished in original burgundy red with black interior; it has been an expensive restoration project (www.caledonianclassics.co.uk/html/porsche_rest.htm) for us here at Caledonian Classics. The 912 is a personal favourite of mine and is a true delight to drive.
