One of only 963 cars built with this rare 970cc engine, this was the first version of the world famous Mini Cooper S, and was the result of the collaboration between the car’s designer Alec Issigonis and John Cooper.
Cooper produced 2 models specifically for circuit racing, and this 970cc version was a ‘homologation special’ built to compete in the 1000cc Racing Series. It was quickly superseded by the better known 1275cc engine. We have a really rare version of this classic which you’ll have great fun driving. It’s totally restored and in great condition, with Almond Green paintwork and Old English white roof. When you open the door, it almost feels like you’re getting into a new car, with beautifully upholstered seats - and the noise of the engine when you turn the key takes you straight back to the days of The Beatles and flared trousers !
