The Austin-Healey 3000 Mark II was produced from 1961, ours is the 2+2 model the BT7 Mark IIA. The first 3000 model was launched in 1959 and the models before that go back to 1952 when the Austin Healey 100 was first introduced.Based on the original 50ís design the Austin Healey 3000 MK II was the first of the 3000 range with a proper convertible hood and wind up windows instead of side screens. It was replaced by the MGC in 1967, which never really overcame the bad press from a road tester having driven a car with incorrect tyre pressures. Our Healey is equipped with optional extras- a heater and overdrive! The car was fully rebuilt in late 80ís and had only travelled a few thousand miles since we purchased the car in 2016, it looks and drive like a very low mileage unrestored car with a very nice patina. The car has that 50ís style of a separate chassis car making the drive a truly memorable and fun experience. It has a great exhaust note to accompany you along winding country lanes with the top down! Driving and being in this car really does provide the experience of 50ís / 60ís motoring at its best, a totally different drive to our e-types but just as enjoyable with a totally different feel.
