Vintage Car Hire Specialists Add 1973 Triumph Stag To Their Collection

The car, which is revered by enthusiasts and a favourite of Top Gear presenter James May, was produced from 1970 until 1978 before becoming a collectors item.   

The Vintage Classics version is a 1972/3 model with a manual gearbox and overdrive.  Vintage Classics purchased the car in 2011 to add to the exclusive fleet of vehicles which includes models such as Jaguar E-Type, Audi Quattro Turbo, Austin Healey and Alfa Spider. 

The Triumph Stag will be available for visitors to hire from 2012 after having undergone a number of upgrades to improve its drive, comfort and overall performance. 

For a limited period the Triumph Stag (red of course!) will beoffered at £165 for a 24 hour hire.  Once hired visitors can drive the car through any parts of Wiltshire’s stunning countryside.

For those who require a little inspiration on where to take their classic vehicle, Vintage Classics has put together a series of sample itineraries including a taste trail.  New for 2012 is the ‘National Trust Trail’ the suggested route takes in all National Trust properties in Wiltshire, covering a total of 113 miles.  Each trail provides full route details and also helpful suggestions of other places of interest to visit en-route.   

Vintage Classics works with a number of local accommodation providers, many of which they can arrange for a car to be delivered to ready for collection.  The choice varies from simple B&Bs to luxury country house hotels, meaning all budgets can be covered.  One such package is available through Beechfield House Hotel where a one night/day classic car package costs from £390.  This price is per couple and includes car hire, accommodation in a luxury or feature room, a candlelit three course al la carte dinner and breakfast.
